While on a mission to spread the Gospel, the FCBH team was blessed to receive a man’s incredible testimony of faith－
The Batak tribe in the Philippines has a cultural history steeped in practices of black magic and rituals. Years ago, a man received a black amulet that he believed to hold dark powers.. A year ago, the man started listening to God’s Word, After a few weeks, the man decided to put his faith in Christ, trusting in God’s greater power. He gave up his old practices and disposed of the amulet in the mountains. But when he got home, the amulet mysteriously reappeared in his house. Somehow, a a spirit warned him that any attempts to rid himself of the amulet would cost the life of a family member. Out of fear for his family, the man first kept this amulet in his home. But as he listened more to God’s Word, he was convinced of God’s greater power. Trusting in God, he and his family are now safely free of the amulet and the dark spirit that came with it. Despite this, the Batak community continues to battle fear and superstition, and the fight for spiritual freedom is a daily struggle. We at FCBH choose to fight this fear by sharing the Word of God in the heart language of those who have not yet heard it, and ask for you to stand with us in prayer for those who do not yet know the freedom found in God’s loving protection and peace.
